I Have been admitted to this hospital many times throughout my life. Very professional and kind staff and doctors who always take very good care of me. I highly recommend this hospital fantastic people. I cannot find any fault in the hospital at all. I have come to this hospital all my life and never had an issue. I really appreciate the support and help I have received from the hospital 👍👍❤️❤️

As a patient of the dressings clinic of the burns unit I was in continuous extreme pain.Although this was logged on a 1 to 10 scale there was no interface with any pain consultant. The nurses managed to show almost no empathy and the medical supervision seemed almost invisible.Although the trust Pals team were wholly supportive and encouraged a complaint nothing happened as a result of this.If a Pals team has little or no power it usually is very bad news for the patient.Getting hospital transport in virtually impossible although I was on crutches.Three letters to the Chief Executive eventually sorted the matter out.As a carer and carer governor (elsewhere) I have decades of experience at the hard end and this was just about the most negative experience of the NHS to date. The clinical lead was of no help and my local pain clinic immediately saw the seriousness of my situation and gave all possible help. The dressings clinic staff need empathy training and pain control issues need to be embedded within a training module. The service needs to be joined up with psychological input in place and patients need to be given access to detailed information about negative outcomes.

Extremely competent, polite and helpful, even at 3am! I showed up with a screaming pain in the neck and a fever so they thoroughly did blood test and were able to discard worst case scenarios like meningitis. At that point even with the horrible pain I was feeling embarrassed to disturb them for a neck spasm or something similar, but they told me I did the right thing coming in, gave me treatment for the symptoms, all of that in the middle of the night and with a smile. Huge sympathy for those guys working crazy hours for our health! Thank you again
