I couldn't fault the consultant I saw on Saturday, yes a lot of money for peace of mind but for me it was money well spent. Only downside is you don't pay for treatment there and then your invoices apparently. Plenty of parking and the consultant and the nurse with him was lovely. Staff on reception quite abrupt and miserable but hey didn't bother Me

My first experience of receiving private care and I cannot fault it. First class treatment from start to finish. Friendly staff, amazing food and swift treatment.

Carpel tunnel op under NHS. Surgeon was brilliant and the op was a great success. Why 3*? I was sent home with no painkillers despite my gp saying they would be supplied. I think the surgeon forgot to tick the box and the carer was afraid to query the error. That is potentially dangerous and indicates an unsafe culture. There was no after-op survey to comment on this. Luckily I had some old pills from my hip-op five years before.

They might take your ovaries without your consent. The woman they did it to killed herself to escape the pain.

Communication is so important and not hard to get right, but it appears that no one here really grasps the basics or the understanding of receiving it in good time. We've received incorrect information, out of date telephone numbers, verbal agreements only for it to be all wrong and we have even received someone else's treatment (fingers crossed their meds work). The people seem nice, but no one is taking this seriously at all. We've been waiting about a year to even get started, they've just delayed again. Shame on you NHS.

Leaving a review is not normally something i bother doing. But this is such a hard thing to deal with that i feel it is necessary to share our experience. First things first, it's very hard to be too critical when your wife is expecting a baby girl which is from a successful IUI and happened first time. We are extremely grateful for what they did for us and couldn't be happier. We were sent to Exeter from Torbay Hospital and our treatment was on the NHS. For people who have to pay, i would recommend seeking out the clinic with the best success rate, depending on distance for you to travel. At Exeter, don't expect to be seen on time. Not one of our appointments was. The first one was over an hour late. It's also a similar story with each process. Every new appointment we had was weeks/months of waiting. And the flexibility of appointments was virtually non-existent, which was very difficult juggling that and my wife starting a new job. The first week in particular pushed us right to the limit! However it is pretty obvious they are understaffed for the amount they have to take on and clearly a lot of them work long and hard hours. The staff are superb to say the least. We always felt welcome and looked after. They were always happy to help and talk. And during different procedures, they made us feel calm and comfortable. Our experience took around 2 years, from our first appointment at Torbay to a positive test at home. There was lots of waiting and lots of travelling from Torquay to Exeter. Patience was certainly the key and at times we felt like we could of just given up. But for anyone starting out, keep the faith that it will happen for you and be patient. You will get there in the end.

Awful communication from the very start. Have now moved clinics because the stress of dealing with them was just too much, and lead to a period of depression. Made an official complaint but they missed the point entirely, so I now give up and will never go back there. Read about my experience with them on my (ongoing) blog, bubsandthebees

Unlike the first reviewer, our experience has been great. The first reviewer is correct though in that the HFEA stats are not great and the clinic should really give their own percentages of success rather than national statistics BUT, that being said, Exeter Fertility have been brilliant to us! Occasionally, they are tricky to get hold of but they are always helpful and caring. Thanks to the medical staff and scientists, we are now expecting twins and could not have done it without these wonderful people. All of the staff were very friendly and go above and beyond even despite the fact they are MASSIVELY over stretched and underfunded like the rest of the NHS. Its easy for me to say now as the IVF worked for us first time, but I think even had it not worked, I would not have blamed the clinic. They do a great job and I would recommend them. :-)

Officially the worst in the region - according to the HFEA's website. However - not according to their own. Wasted my one free chance at Exeter Fertility - and now I will have to travel to Wales. What an absolute shambles. The nurses are lovely, everyone was friendly - but when you pay thousands of pounds, what's the point in going to the worst clinic in the region? Especially when their prices are higher than most. For ladies out there who (like me) didn't look at the success rates on the official HFEA website, please find them below. These are just for IVF cycles, for women under 35 using their own eggs. This is three years worth of data (2014) and the figures haven't improved since for Fertility Exeter. It's such a shame their website led me to believe 30 -35% success rates, but its actually so much lower. Don't waste your one free chance on the NHS like I did - please go elsewhere. It's not worth the risk, its already so hard on us, emotionally and physically - every tiny percentage counts when you are trying for a miracle. You can double your chances just by travelling 60 miles. I know the choice I would have made should I have had truthful information from their website. Exeter Fertility Pregnancies per cycle 17.8% Live Births Per Cycle 17.2% Singleton Live Births 13.6% Multiple Live Births 3.6% Live births per egg 20.7% Live Births per embryo transfer 25.7% Miscarriages per cycle 0.6% Bristol Center for Reproductive Medicine Pregnancies per cycle 26.1% Live Births Per Cycle 22.7% Singleton Live Births 19.3% Multiple Live Births 3.4% Live births per egg 35.1% Live Births per embryo transfer 40% Miscarriages per cycle 2.3% Bath Fertility Pregnancies per cycle 29.6% Live Births Per Cycle 26.8% Singleton Live Births 26.1% Multiple Live Births 0.7% Live births per egg 31.4% Live Births per embryo transfer 36.2% Miscarriages per cycle 2.1% London's Womens Clinic Wales Pregnancies per cycle 32.5% Live Births Per Cycle 29.4% Singleton Live Births 23.8% Multiple Live Births 5.6% Live births per egg 38.5% Live Births per embryo transfer 43.9% Miscarriages per cycle 2.5% My story? Ill keep it short - over/under cooked - 25 follicles turned into 4 eggs and only one fertilized. Months waiting without a phone call, nearly breached the 18 week pathway - reason? Because the consultant was on Holiday for a month and a new one was starting soon, so it would be a few months. Just another statistic - and a bad one at that. So they wasted nearly 8 months of my life - battered, bruised, forgotten about and nothing to show for it. As I said before, everyone is friendly enough - but something is going seriously wrong somewhere - and when you are in control of something as important as bringing children into the world - its not good enough. At least they offer you free counselling eh!

I went to A and E this evening. The team were incredible. The reception staff are so patient and helpful. I was treated by a nurse called Tanya who was so friendly, caring and kind. I was so impressed. The department has improved so much since I went a few years ago. Congratulations to a brilliant team. Thank you.

Never had any problems until last week when I had a appointment at 3.15 and was eventually seen at 5.05pm no apology and could not have a scan because it was closed. Have to wait until the 13/12 its management gone wrong and such a waste of money it would have been better to have seen the consultant and had the scan the same day. Instead I have a scan on the 13/12 and a follow up with the consultant five days later. Absolutely incredible

Very rude staff, they don’t care about their patients.. I’ve been brought there by the ambulance as an emergency and I spent hours and hours waiting to be seen.. I’ve just decided to leave as the staff was EXTREMELY RUDE and also because I wasn’t feeling well and the environment was too noisy and depressive..

I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after my child. She was in the children's day ward for a 4 teeth extraction op under a general anaesthetic. Every staff member, from the external facilities company to the theatre staff were kind, caring, attentive and informative at all times, but made her feel at ease at all times. So many people involved for one child we shouldn't take advantage of this wonderful Institution.

I've had my 2 daughters in the birthing suite at queens and was recently referred from my GP with suspected appendicitis. Yes discharge times with my births were lengthy and when I had my appendix out, I was out of the bed in minutes but if that's the only negative then I consider that to be very minor. The care I received on all occasions was fantastic and I'd happily wait 3 hours to be discharged if the care received saved my life, as it did on 2 occasions. Unfortunately the issues are due to funding and not enough staff.

Very money orientated and doctor constantly late. Doctor not showing up at time of egg collection with 2 patients in front of me... Never had a scan before going into theatre to check if follicles were still there. Was told my eggs did not fertilize. This is the only clinic where my eggs did not fertilize... and it happened twice.

We cannot thank Dr Gorgy enough for helping us bring our wonderful son into this world and complete our family. The Fertility Academy is an exceptional IVF clinic in London where you get personal care from a top fertility consultant from start to finish. If you are struggling to conceive, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.

I came in in an emergency, the staff and doctors in A&E were amazing! I then came back in for a procedure and again all staff at this hospital were so lovely, caring and professional, they looked after me so well. Just as an added extra, it's a beautiful hospital with lots of natural light and was very clean - I couldn't recommend enough.

I've not felt better cared for (and loved!) in my life since my mum took care of me when ill as a small child and my daughter looked after me after smashing up my arm 12 years ago. Fabulous consultants, doctors and nurses. I couldn't recommend the place enough and I thank them all for my recent expert treatment and considerate care. 😍🤩

For those of you complaining about bad service or long wait times, or a bad pharmacy, you guys clearly haven’t been to North Middlesex Hospital.. Yes, it’s underfunded and understaffed just like every hospital in our country, but the doctors and nurses are doing the best with what they have and have provided me with a world class service.. I honestly think this is one of the best hospitals in London..

Been going to this hospital for yrs & I've suffered with some very serious life threatening illness from the age off 16 up until now which is still on going- I'm 39 now. I've had of cause my fair share of problems there but as I'm older now & i seem more calm this happens a lot less. Great treatment but as we all no Dr's aren't magicians and they can't suddenly solve everything so you yourself getting a bit of background knowledge on your illness will help.
