Private Clinics & Hospitals For NIPT (Harmony or Panorama or neoBona Test)

For the past decade, doctors have utilised the Nuchal Translucency Scan to assess pregnant women on their risk of having a baby with Down syndrome, or other possible abnormalities. This scan enables doctors to look at the skin fold of the baby’s neck along with baby’s nose bone near the 12 week mark. This combined with an additional blood test make for a 92% predictive value. While these results are strong, there is still a high margin for error, and women who present as high risk may elect to proceed to Chorion Villous Sampling (CVS) or Amniocentesis. Unfortunately, these tests are invasive and carry a risk of miscarriage of about 1:100.

Even the slightest chance of miscarriage is a scary thought for any new mum. The good news is, Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is now available. Doctors have discovered that a simple blood sample taken from the mother at around 10 weeks can be analysed for cell free foetal DNA. The results of this test have a predictive value of more than 99%, greatly reducing the need for more invasive and risky testing.

There are currently three main tests available in the UK – Harmony Test, Panorama Test, and neoBona Test. Please contact the clinics listed here to know more about the NIPT they offer during pregnancy.

I really cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!!! I have been for 4 scans at this center and had 4 separate very skilled sonographers - all of which have been understanding compassionate, helpful and offered a service that far outweighed my expectations. The first scan I had was an unfortunate experience as the news wasn't positive and the lady handled the situation with such care and empathy and made the whole experience as easy as it could be under the circumstances. Understandably when I fell pregnant again I was extremely anxious and for each of the 3 scans I had and they have been so understanding and empathetic and reassuring with their approach. I really cant understand the previous negative reviews. Everything about this place is professional, from the service received (as mentioned above) down to the quality of the equipment, the skill of the sonographers, and the pleasant surroundings with nice specious treatment rooms and airy reception areas.

I really don't understand the negative comments on here. This place from week 5 to week 35 were 100% caring supportive informed compassionate. We had a previous full term stillbirth and I was expecting our second and was understandably nervous as I was high risk. Every time we expected bad news but Cathy was beyond professional in every aspect of our sessions showing us every development in clear detail. She never hurried the session and nothing was ever a problem. She spent good quality time with us. So compared to London and especially Harley Street where we only had 30 minutes or so and cost a lot more which we did during our first, this was complete value for money and far cheaper. We had a DVD that has every bit of the pregnancy in full. Once baby was big enough we had clear 4D images for the same price. My nhs maternity unit charged 5.00 for 2 really fuzzy rubbish quality scan pictures which didn't look anything like a baby. Cathy prides herself on getting the best images her equipment is top of the range with plenty of photos to take home with us. We now have incredible pictures of our baby's development and journey. The clinic also do harmony testing and other valuable services. Cathy and her receptionists made this time pregnant a joy instead of us being a bag of nerves. We never had a problem getting an appointment. My husband and I whole heartedly recommend this clinic (marlow).

I’m genuinely surprised to read negativity about the Baby Scan Studio. Back in 2013, I was scanned at this clinic at around 13 weeks. They did an anomaly scan for me as my local hospital wouldn’t repeat the scan (baby laying awkwardly). When my results came back, they were less than favourable and showed that I had a high chance of having a premature baby. The baby scan studio tested something additionally called PAPP A that the local hospital didn’t. The ultrasound technician spent ages on the phone to me talking through it all and helping me make a decision about further testing and how to get a consultant involved etc. She asked me important questions to help guide me through how I would feel/ was it worth the risk of amnio etc. My local hospital were pretty useless and pretty much disregarded the result but offered me an amnio. My waters broke at 24 weeks and 5 days and she was born at 25 weeks. Had it not have been for his clinic preparing me for the possibility I would have been even more shocked and had she of not spent all that time talking me through it I would have had an amnio done and my baby probably wouldn’t have survived. Luckily she’s a completely normal 4.5 year old now! 😊 I always recommend this clinic.

No empathy, massive communication problems! They take a £30 deposit and full price of a scan is £90!!! After the hassle and upset of having to deal with this place I went to a place in Kingsbury and paid £39 for my scan, no deposit and the care was incredible! Despite this place only being 10 minutes away I'd rather travel the extra 30 minutes and get the care that the place in kingsbury provided. I wouldn't go near this place unless you know everything is 100% ok and just want some photos for £90!
