2012’s Top Pushchair For Country Life

It’s all very well choosing a pushchair that looks nice, has all the right accessories and glides over paving like a well-serviced Mercedes, however it’s very little use if you live in the country, and have to manoeuvre through grass or navigate awkward cobbles!

Essentially, for country living or an active lifestyle, you’ll need sturdy wheels that absorb shock effectively. Therefore your little one won’t be knocked and disturbed from their resting place, and you’ll feel more at ease too.

So what have we chosen?

Who is it for?
Those who enjoy an active, outdoor way of life, with a healthy touch of style thrown in, too.

In a nutshell:
The Silver Cross Surf Elevation pushchair is a great investment for rough terrain, it looks fantastic and is massively durable.

It adjusts easily to be forward-facing or parent-facing, meaning you can enjoy a feeling of closeness and interaction – or satisfy your child’s burgeoning curiosity for the world around them, as and when you (or they!) choose.

It has lots of handy features. The handlebar adjusts to four different heights, providing comfort for nearly all parents.

The brakes are also a nice touch. Instead of having to flick tricky pedals up with your foot, a red pedal sets the brakes and a green one releases them – no messing around here.

There’s also an essentials pack, which includes a sunshade, padded seat liner, apron and even a tyre pump – talk about being prepared for those long walks outside!

What does it cost?
The basic cost of the pushchair is £650, with a further £185 for the Surf Elevation Zinc Carrycot and £40 for the Footmuff.

If you are looking for a complete travel system, you can also purchase the Silver Cross Ventura Plus S car seat from £125.

Any drawbacks?
For maximum comfort for newborns, we think you’re best off buying the Surf Elevation Carrycot in addition to the pushchair.
