Pushchair Guide – Nuna MIXX2

Pushchair Guide Summer 2018 – Nuna MIXX2

Starting price of £450.

Nuna has renewed and revived the Mixx and this ever-popular pushchair has had some handy upgrades that make this good product even better.

The Nuna MIXX2 is all about making family life easier. Both stylish and practical it’s easy to steer, has all wheel suspension to ensure a comfy ride and offers flexibility for the whole family. For Nuna; “Flexibility means the freedom to go where you want. Together”. This travel system certainly helps you get places with ease. A one handed smooth and easy ride takes the stress out of spending the day pushing/carrying a buggy!

Making parenthood easier is what the Nuna MIXX2 is all about, with handy additions like a generous sized basket to carry your day’s wares.

The Facts

At 13.6kg this isn’t the lightest pushchair but there are plenty of features that make this product a really good purchase. It comes in three colours: jett, caviar and suited. With its dark frame and dark coated/chrome wheels it definitely makes a style statement.

The pushchair is suitable for birth to 50lbs using the standard seat. Nuna has listened to criticism of the former model and added a bassinet option (at additional cost) for those parents who feel more comfortable using a carrycot for the first few months.

The standard seat, which can be parent or world facing, is easily adjustable into five positions using one hand and reclines all the way back into a lie flat ‘sleeper’ seat. Mesh side panels ensure adequate ventilation.

Overall the upgraded fabrics and plush leatherette handle give the new MIXX2 a quality look and feel.

What’s In The Box?

Well, what’s in the box is entirely up to you, depending on wheel option, chassis colour and seat option. But the basics are:

  1. Nuna Mixx pushchair
  2. Rain cover
  3. Foot muff and seat liner

What’s Extra?

Still hung up on the skis, I have to say…

  1. Carrycot/bassinet £150
  2. Car seat adaptors £19.99
  3. Wheeled travel bag £100

Interesting Features

The MIXX2 is one of those pushchairs that has got the foot brake design spot on. Placed in the middle of the bottom bar of the chassis, it is easy to reach and operate (regardless of footwear choice) and is even colour coded red or green to take the guesswork out of which position it’s been left in.

The MIXX2 fold is very compact whichever way the seat is facing which is great for transporting around in a car boot or storing at home.

It has a very large extending UV canopy to protect baby from harmful rays and a footrest that is height adjustable.

The Priam is one hand fold and can be folded down with the Lux seat in place. With the 2-in-1 seat you have to remove the seat from the chassis first.

The lux seat has a handy lever that allows you to fold it into itself, then push down the handle bar and use your foot on the back of the chassis to push the back and front wheel in on each other.

What We Love

We love the fact that the MIXX2 oozes quality and is easy to use. Genuinely it’s a product designed to make family life easier. The easy steer, compact fold and large storage basket are key benefits of this buggy.

The various seat positions, the adjustable footrest and lie flat ‘sleeper’ option mean that your little one will be comfortable no matter what age, sleeping or awake.

Not only is this a robust buggy but it is well made and comfortable. The foot muff and rain cover are included in the price, which is a bonus as many pushchair brands charge extra for these essentials.

What We’re Not So Taken With

The MIXX2 is a little weightier than some pushchairs on the market but this is made easier to swallow with its great suspension and easy steer. The hood can be tricky to use and a bit flimsy, which was a criticism of the first version. Perhaps something for Nuna to rectify down the line.
