This, although sounds odd, was my best experience on an Emergency Department. When I arrived, I was visibly distressed. The lady who was on reception was lovely and immediately got the Sister on duty who ushered me to a room so I could have some privacy. The Psych Liaison was brilliant and got me a bed on a ward really quickly. My experience on Evan Jones ward was just as positive.

St Thomas day assessment unit: take some food and water with. I am waiting here since more than 2 1/2 hours. Asked at the reception how long it will still take. Maybe 1 or two or three hours. They don't know. Oh so what are you doing there behind your counter if you don't even have a plan what's going on. The waiting time would be ok if the staff wouldn't be rude and really arrogant. They have a water dispenser here. But why should they refill it? They are way to busy chatting to each other since hours. So just be quiet and wait. Don't come up with the idea and ask how long it will still take.

I had a great experience at the A&E after a sporting injury. All the staff I came into contact with were attentive, kind, calm, helpful and funny (the doctor particularly). I was in and out in 3 hours (with cast and sling) and can't fault any of it. Excellent ad for the NHS.

My husband had to be admitted after new year's eve. It was a hard time for us but the staff from this hospital made his stay more pleasant. It makes you realise that paying your tax is not in vain. Don't have words to express my gratitude towards the staff.

After the first queue to check in, there is another wait to register a turn which took 20 minutes. Then, although the approximate waiting time has been stated on the reception, 2 hours in my case, it took me three hours to get to be seen by a nurse and the generic response is "sorry for the wait." By the time I finally saw the GP, I had explained my whole physical problem 4 times. Even though she was nice, it's safe to say it's not worth the 4 hours process. If you need to be seen there, ask for the '5 minutes walk' GP contacts they provide.

I am very grateful to the amazing midwives and consultants on the 7th floor who helped me give a natural birth to my baby. They've all made my experience extra special with great facilities and great staff. Overall had the most overwhelming yet best experience I've ever had in a hospital.

Staff on the whole great. Hygiene on refurbished Stephen ward disgusting to say the least. Toilets blocked. 4 bays under infection quarantine, no heating. No hygiene products in bathrooms. 3 of 4 lifts out of order What was the point of relocating patients into an unfinished ward? On top of all that still waiting after 3 weeks for an urgent procedure which at the time of review has been cancelled twice Apart from that a huge improvement on my previous hospital. I cannot praise the majority of the nursing staff highly enough though. 4 stars not 3 as previously posted. My bad.!!

It is overall the best hospital I have ever been in. Most of the doctors, nurses and midwives are really nice and friendly. Prenatal and postnatal care as well as the experience of giving birth was really straightforward with all the help I got. Only negative experience was with the day assessment unit. We waited at least 4 hours there despite having an emergency...

Fantastic Modern Hospital in the heart of London. This Hospital must have the best views in the whole of the UK. I was sitting in a waiting room overlooking the River Thames opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, it was a wonderful sunny crisp winters morning watching the boats go by. The facilities and staff are amazing, they were so kind and thoughtful, they just couldn't do enough for me, even though they are underpaid and over worked. I will be choosing this hospital every time, Thank you St Thomas'.

We had our first child here and had an initially poor then brilliant experience. First the bad: be warned that the car park can get pretty busy so if you're driving, best to drop your partner of before going to park. Also, until it is agreed that your partner is genuinely close to giving birth, they're is a complete lack of adequate care and attention. Despite coming in clearly in stress and last stages of labor, my girlfriend was sent to sit in a waiting room outside the ward for 20 mins before someone came to check on her. But once she was properly admitted the care was great, friendly professional, attentive. Midwife and birthing pool were the perfect solution for us and the after care was kind and thoughtful

Absolutely horrendous, their junior dentists are the worst in the world and act like they are not. I had my wisdom tooth extracted by an inexperienced stupid junior dentist, who did not give me enough general anaesthetic and deliberated to continue the procedure while I was in immense pain. Most junior dentists, need to leave their egos at the door and not bring it into surgery, focus on patient care...yes one of the worst dental surgeries I have ever been to. But then patients are merely lab rats for junior dentists and doctors at Guy St Thomas's I feel after going through my ordeal. I think Doctors and Dentists should be sued directly, not the NHS as it falls on the tax payer legal costs, I hope the UK follows the US in terms of medical negligence in the future.

It’s very rare that you come across a hospital like St Thomas’. I’m thankfully under the pain clinic here and the team here are far superior to any other hospital in London. I’m so thankful to these guy. They really listen when you talk and their treatment programs for Fybromyalgia and ME are very advanced. Outstanding service. A lot of hospitals could learn a lot from this place.

I was taken by ambulance to St Thomas' Hospital A&E - in considerable pain. January 2018. My pain was promptly controlled, diagnosis made, tests carried out and a treatment plan decided on. The attention I received was magnificent. Most of all I was made to feel that I was in the hands of professionals and cared for. I was operated on next day, Monday - but only following a detailed discussion and clarification of my condition with the Vascular Team. The operation was a complete success. My confidence in the Vascular Team was 100%. In fact in every area I found the care, the nursing in particular, and the facilities: CT and PET scans – outstanding. It seemed to me that if I needed anything it would be promptly provided.. Even the food was excellent. The wards were extremely well-designed. The patients accommodated in small groups which created a very friendly atmosphere. At each change of shift a nurse came to us and said "I'm the nurse who will be looking after you today." This was both reassuring and respectful. Everyone in Britain has a right to be proud of this National Health Service. In my experience it is extremely well-equipped, well-run, offers exceptional services and facilities and above all is staffed by a remarkable group of highly qualified and articulate professionals. St Thomas's Hospital made me feel that my well-being mattered and that the health care I would receive would be everything that I could possibly need. I was in hospital for about 9 days. Someone deserves immense credit for the existence of our National Health Service. To them and even more to everyone who works in the National Health Service today I most deeply grateful.

I would like to thank all the St Thomas midwifery team, receptionists, midwifes, hca’s and a big thank to my consultant midwife Julie for the excellent care provided to me and my baby, I gave birth safely and had a great experience. I was very hopeless with NHS after my traumatic experience and poor care at Royal London Hospital I ended up losing my healthy baby at 41 weeks during my delivery Dec 2016. I totally recommend St Thomas hospital everyone was very friendly and professional.

Generally a good hospital. Midwives are usually friendly and helpful. The past few visits, I haven't had long to wait at all. I did have one bad experience which is when my child was born. We were in hospital for over a week and decided to self discharge as all checks on my child were good, my mother's instinct told me that she was perfectly fine and I felt I was losing my mind in there. One of the nurses tried to make me feel guilty and emotionally blackmailed me saying that if I leave, I'm going to have to come back because my child will get sick, "watch". Just to be clear, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my child, they kept us in to do tests for an infection as my waters had been broken for 2 days prior to giving birth - the tests were all negative. Then when we were waiting hours for our discharge papers, the nurse decided to very obviously flirt with my partner. I couldn't believe what was happening right in front of my eyes; even he seemed a bit surprised. I was so angry.

Seriously impressive hospital, goes on for miles and has loads of different departments so it may take you a while to find the department you need!! My friend was treated very well and care was excellent, food ok. Efficient and friendly to an outsider, though staff may see a different side! Just got a pile of investment from the UK government, so hopefully will remain a world class hospital. Stand strong and tall NHS!

I have been to many hospitals in London but i genuinely have to say that i feel i received the highest level of care at St Thomas’s. Everyone from the reception team to the nurses and doctors are just so professional and take time to listen you. I walked in and felt really cared for. It was small things like how the nurses and consultants spoke to you . They listened and worked with you . From the reception team who were so efficient and organised . Even when there was delays they kept us informed. Also when i went in for day surgery the nurses always introduced themselves if they were changing shifts . There was one patient who could not eat the sandwiches and requested some crisps . The lady had fasted all day and was now extremely hungry after coming out of surgery . The nurses went and got someone to get them for her even though she was so busy and probably had more important things to attend to . I thought that was such a kind selfless act . I could go on and on but i when i walk into a place like this i feel so proud of the Nhs . I feel so humbled by the all the people working to make the NHS as great as it can ever be . Thank you to you all . I feel even more passionate about the NHS. I think a lot of hospitals could learn from this place . A special mention goes to the nurse in my main care “Debbie Holloway” . A brilliant nurse who is caring and very professional.

I Have attended Mums for both Gender scan and Anomaly scan.On both ocassions i have been treated so well by all the staff there.I felt at ease straight away and was explained to about all the measurements and all the parts of the baby and felt reasured straight away.I had my scan using the new Voluson E10 machine and comparing my photos of my son with my daughters scan pictures from 3 years ago at another clinic the difference is huge. They are so clear and detailed. I would recommend MUMS to every mum to be.You certainly get what you pay for. .

Actual experience great - nice clinic, introduction good. But aftercare appalling. Had ordered a NIPT. Says 7-10 days but I had to chase them on day 10 and then 11. The delay made us really worried there was something wrong with our baby. Eventually got results on day 13. I then wrote an email but they couldn’t even be bothered to reply. Gives the impression that they take your money and couldn’t care less about you after that point. Awful customer service. Will not return and won’t be recommending to anyone.

Even though the maternity services where good enough the birth experience was the worst it can be. We were going for normal birth, dilated up to 6cm and the, apparently most stupid midwife in the world for 8 hours was saying "stop pushing baby, just breath your oxygen". We were asking for epidural to be done as soon as possible but no, they had their own plans. After already in contractions for 5 hours they decide to come in; being in unbelievable pain it takes around 30 minutes to get my wife ready and then their beeper beeps for an emergency and they leave us for another 3 hours waiting in total pain and the midwife saying every 3 minutes "don't push baby...". They finally changed shifts at 9am (we were there since 5pm) and the new ones decided that we go for emergency c-section. We just wanted the nightmare to finish. Just to mention the waters broke at 10pm so open for infections for 11 hours. The theater (surgery) was nothing like expected. Around 8 people around coming and leaving while my wife's internals where wide open. The door was opening every minute and someone new was coming or leaving and of course old school non-dissolvable sutures with needle. Even though everything seemed that went good enough we stayed in for 5 more days. No one came to check the baby for 3 whole days; gave pills and checks to my wife but no check on the baby. So our little one got a fever of 39 and only then they decided, after we ask them, to call for a doctor. The doctor said that we need to give antibiotics to the baby just in case it had sepsis. It seems that the baby was trying to breastfeed for 3 days and mother didn't had milk yet so sucking for so long made him sick. At the moment we fed him by bottle the fever dropped to normal but they kept giving to this little baby 3 more doses of antibiotics even though we asked not to. 9am of the 5th day they say we will get discharged so we asked to remove the needle from baby's hand. They are so slow that I went to ask again at 2:30pm to do that but the midwife was in lunch brake. A good lady finally came at 4:30. Of course it didn't end there. After we went back home we were told to expect a midwife the next day to remove the stitches. It appears the email left the hospital the next day (Saturday at 10:30am) so no one knew about our discharge and no one came. After many calls they decided to come on Sunday. To conclude. "Worst Birth Experience Ever". We went there after reading good reviews but something has changed and the management need to take real actions like discharge themselves. Personnel also needs better recruitment process.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible I gave birth to my first child here. I had a very bad experience with my antenatal appointments: Several times they lost my blood results, very bad treat from some midwifes, but birth experience was a nightmare! The toilets in the ante natal room where I had to stay for 2 days due to there were no beds available, the toilets there were disgusting and with blood everywhere. But the worse was yet to come when after 15 hours labour, the doctor came to tell us that the midwife had calibrated wrong the heart machine and my baby's heartbeat was not recognized! My tear got infected and I think part was due to the poor hygienic conditions... They are overloaded and they treat you like chicken in a production line!

So far I am very impressed with the service in this hospital. Was waiting for about 6 weeks a letter from St Thomas and never arrived so decided to subscribe to have my baby at Queen's charlottes as recommended by my private midwife. Less than a week later had all my appointment letters for the following week. Today I had my first scan and the lady was so friendly, I felt as well treated as in a private scan I did previously. The lady took her time and was very helpful. The reception staff were so helpful too, they accommodated my requests about timing to take blood as I was late for a meeting and the lady that took my blood was so amazing that I didn't feel a thing. Thank you dear team, I feel very reassured so far to have my baby there.

Cannot fault the team of midwifes on the birth centre I had my 2nd baby here a few days and would definitely recommend having a baby at the birth centre. The antenatal midwifes are lovely also only downside was the scans I had the ladies who did both my scans were very impatient and didn't look like they wanted to be there but apart from that what a great hospital and birth centre. Aftercare team were also great.

I have had two children at Queen Charlotte's, my second one last week, and I would unhesitatingly recommend it. The staff are unfailingly kind, compassionate and professional. My first pregnancy was very complicated and risky. It was handled expertly, giving me complete confidence in my medical team. I chose to return for my second baby. She was thankfully less complicated but I still received a very high standard of care, including the obstetrician of my choice and exactly the birth plan I wanted. My interactions with other parts of the maternity service (midwife helpline, birth centre, maternity triage, etc) were all good. Four stars, not five, because the antenatal clinic is utterly chaotic. I saw a different midwife at every appointment and the appointments usually ran at least an hour late. The midwives were all excellent but I felt a lack of continuity of care and support. Overall, a very positive experience.

Outstanding; caring professionals. I have received the best care I could imagine on arrival of our son. The midwives in the centre were excellent and delivered our baby safely although the birth was not an easy one. Post natal care in the birth centre was excellent. Even after being discharged I could count on them and give a call to a birth centre to ask for an advice when needed. We are both very grateful to all staff of the birth centre.

I gave birth to my daughter here and it was high risk due to my heart condition. The actual delivery I feel the staff were attentive and empathetic but after for 5 days I was surrounded by cold nurses who neglected me so badly that I could have died of sepsis. I had an infected episiotomy that was extremely painful even with painkillers and I kept asking for it to be looked at and the nurses just kept saying it was fine and giving me ice packs. I couldn’t sit or stand for 5 days and the evening after we left my boyfriend had to take me to the A&e where they confirmed an infection just by looking at it. I called the maternity unit in the Queen Charlotte hospital I was in to tell them what happened and one of the nurses who was the only one that seemed empathetic (although she never suspected I had an infection) answered the phone and seemed genuinely sorry about what happened.

I had my baby girl on Valentines Day . Although I am very difficult patient , I was treated exceptionally , i am so grateful of everyone from the antenatal care to Labour Ward, i couldn't have received better care anywhere else , all staff were very proffesional and very polite and understanding. The diabetis midwife Helen did everything she could to calm me down and made sure i was not scared , Consultant Bhavinder Sagoo made sure my plan was followed and also took care of me , there was a student called Amy who made me feel calm as well, there was a midwife called Freya who did not leave my room for 10 hours , the Anaestetic team were absolutely faboulous sadly at that point i could not hear their names , there was a team of consultants checking on me regulary , and although my blood pressure went down and babys tones were low i did not panic as i felt i couldnt have been in better hands . And the Rm Sophie Martha Leona and the student midwife Myesha Priya they have made my experience unforgettable and positive, my delivery calm and aware .Although i have 2 other children and their deliveries were very easy and very short , my third delivery and 24 hours stay in the hospital is the best one . Words can not express how grateful i am , thank you all for the care you have given me, for the experince you helped me with, and of course for the safe delivery of my baby girl .

Excellent service and care provided to me and baby Eva. Fantastic midwives, Ambra, Ronke and student Samatha were motivating and thanks to their 24h support, strong encouragement and hard work Eva was born through natural labour which was less stressful, controlled and better for my body post labour. All staff at QC is working very hard to make sure you and your baby are healthy during and after labour with frequents checks and visitations at home. Real dedication to their work. The three ladies who delivered Eva were fantastic and their encouragement, mental support, knowledge and professionalism was priceless during the labour. Thank you QC xx

I had my second baby via csection at the this hospital on the Stanley Clayton ward and the experience was amazing. Dee looked after me so well and gave me so much breastfeeding support and encouragement. She was always on call, treated me with respect and dignity at all times, and was just perfect. I also think she’s a little bit magic because despite having almost no labour signs and over a week before my due date she told me 3 hours before I went into labour that she had a feeling it would happen that night! All the midwifes were excellent and it was a completely different experience to the hospital I’d had my first baby at. There was always someone on call to help either myself or the baby and they were just all such nice people. I’ve doctored then one star for two reasons: - the finance department are a shambles. They won’t return your calls and despite ignoring at least 6 messages I’ve left they continue to send me letters about an outstanding amount (which my insurer has told me is them trying to overcharge and not to pay) - secondly, my baby was born with a suspected tongue tie and the midwifes arranged a specialist lady to come to the ward with a view to diagnosing. Well this woman was the rudest person I have ever come across. She came into the room eating which I thought was really unprofessional. Before my husband and I had even said hello she pointed at my ‘Pram’ and told me it was completely unsuitable for a newborn - I mean she really aggressively told us off about it (she wrongly thought our doona car seat was our Pram but didn’t give us time to correct her). She then examined our baby and said he might have a tongue tie, might not, it might need treating, might not. Just completely sat on the fence despite being specialist in the area. Then just as she was going my husband asked her a question just to clarify we understood the next steps to which she replied ‘weren’t you listening to what I just said?’ , my husband tried to rephrase the question to which she just said ‘well if you’d listened I already gave you the answer’ and marched off! Honestly it was utterly bizarre! I don’t think we were asking a stupid question because we had listened to her intently however even if we were, she could have shown some compassion that we were new to the whole tongue tie thing and had a baby less than 48 hours prior!.Anyway we ended up seeing a tongue tie practitioner local to us who was amazing and said it was a really obvious tongue tie (she couldn’t understand how it a specialist wouldn’t have instantly diagnosed it) and properly talked us through what it meant and our treatment options. It’s such a shame because the horrible woman was just so unlike anyone else we dealt with in our time at Queen charlottes. In hindsight I wish I’d put in a formal complaint but I just didn’t want anything to detract from the precious first days with our baby.

My experience with the Birth Company for over 6 years has been excellent. Dr Gibb is an amazing professional but more importantly he is a wonderful person who gives individual attention to the issues and problems, and finds the best way to resolve, reassure and keep you happy. Dr Gibb monitored and advised during my four pregnancies... The support I had from him was unbelievable, even during weekends and after hours. He was the only doctor who answered all my questions over the phone, without even me being registered at his clinic, after which I became his client for many years. Now I am a proud mother of two healthy and beautiful children, and happy to return to Dr Gibb for gynecological and obstetrics consultations. Thank you!

Really friendly, efficient service. Great experience overall. Had the Panorama. My appointment was with Kate who was absolutely fantastic. The results came really quickly. Have a comparison with private healthcare elsewhere and must say that The Birth Company was just how I would like to be treated when I pay for medical services - attentively, calmly, friendly, in a pleasant environment that doesn't look like hospital. Top marks!

I saw Kate throughout my first pregnancy and am now doing so again with my second. She is absolutely amazing, she explains everything really clearly, and has answered all sorts of bizarre questions and worries I have had. On top of being clinically excellent she is also just the loveliest person and always a pleasure to see. Sarah Newland x

Lovely receptionists and excellent results service. Only disappointment was the blood test – I have a needle and blood phobia and flagged this with the doctor, but he proceeded to give a step-by-step account of the procedure (he was demonstrating to a colleague) and left the bloods on table for me to see. My partner and I were pretty shocked. Possibly the worst experience of giving blood – not what you expect from a private service.

The Birth Company have supported us through both the hardest and happiest times of our lives. Everyone including the receptionists, clinical team and Dr Gibb himself are caring, thoughtful and highly professional. I never feel rushed, I always feel cared for and respected and every question we have ever asked (we always have lots) has been answered in as much detail as we have needed. I have most of my ante natal care on the NHS, including deliveries, but have had a few consultations and scans at the Birth Company in all of my pregnancies. I normally arrive at consultations feeling anxious and confused and leave feeling reassured and confident that the plan ahead is the right thing for my baby, my family and me. I could not recommend them highly enough.

A conveyor belt of scans. The service delivery was very poor. We went to The Birth Company feeling really excited to see our baby for the first time (we booked a viability scan at 8 weeks) and left the clinic having our experience ruined by the staffs' attitude. The front staff seemed very friendly with each other, but cold with the patients, while the sonographer treated us like a McDonalds transaction. No emotions, no congratulations, just a medical routine procedure for them. She didn't answer most of my questions while I was on the table. Very dissapointed...

We went to the birth company for our 2nd child, and from our first appointment we were treated so professionally and with so much care, I actually just googled private clinics and they were the first and in my opinion I’m so glad I clicked on their website and rang them, initially it was just to make sure the baby was doing well, at early stages, but after feeling so comfortable we went for the harmony test, which actually was so helpful, also found out that our new born was a boy. I honestly would say to anyone wanting to check privately, don’t be scared to call, these guys are so good and make you feel so welcome, not pushy at all, and are actually doing a fantastic service. By the way our new born is now 7 months, And he’s doing great. Thank you so much, and I wish you all the very best, keep up the great work.

The most professional team on Harley Street (and we've been to no less than 4 clinics in the area). From the staff that greets you upon entering the clean, modern clinic to Bina Bhawan, our fantastic and knowledgeable sonographer, everyone was attentive, kind and caring. Sadly, all a winning combination highly lacking on Harley Street these days. Highly recommend!

Can’t recommend The Birth Company enough, I’ve had specific dealings with Kirsty who is just wonderful and has so much time and patience. I never realised how anxious I would be and I’ve had nothing but reassurance. So much so I’ve booked the Gold Package to make sure they are by my side throughout the whole of my pregnancy. Definitely worth every penny.

Lovely staff, great service. Had an appointment with the senior doctor - he is lovely and very knowledgeable, and also very professional. Seemed to be doing his job as a passion, not in it for the money like you’d get in other places. Pleasantly impressed, will go back for a next scan for sure.

I had a harmony test completed at the birth company. I was able to get a same day appointment at the clean and comfortable Alderley edge clinic. Doctor Gibbs did my scan and took my sample of blood and was professional, Frank and reasurring. I had the results back a week later. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly helpful and polite, especially Ruth who I believe works on reception. Would recommend to family and friends.

My girlfriend and I had some very worrying results from our 12 week blood test from our local hospital. We needed to have a Harmony test, and the Birth Company managed to fit us in that same day. The lady we saw was absolutely incredible. My girlfriend was incredibly emotional and the lady had such a kind nature and was also extremely thorough on our scan. She explained everything in great detail. We left feeling we were in the right hands. 1 week later we received our results and it was all good news! The way the Birth Conpany handled giving us our results was brilliant. Great people, great service, highly highly recommend going here.

This was my second time now at the Birth Company and I opted for the Panorama NIPT, I originally went into for the Harmony but after a discussion the Panorama seemed the best choice and I was told what was the difference between them all. I had Kate and she was super helpful and took some beautiful pictures and videos of our baby. I got sent the full report and everything straight away. The actual results for the Panorama come quicker then I expected and it was super easily laid out for you to see all the results etc. I would 100% recommend this company. Appointment was exactly on time, no waiting around, Kate was amazing and the receptionists were also super helpful. Charlotte

I went into the Birth Company for a harmony scan and am so glad I did, the whole experience was great. When I called to ask about the test, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful and immediately put me at ease. Booking the appointment was very fast and comprehensive too, great customer service all around. Dr Gibb was excellent - professional, explained everything thoroughly, and had a great bedside manner. The location is great and the facilities were very nice - bright, comfortable and relaxed. Receiving the results from my test was again a great experience, very thorough and considerate too. I would refer anyone to come here and if I need to in the future will definitely visit again.

first impressions so far have been outstanding and I couldn't have asked for more. Staff communication via email and phone has been very professional, friendly and speedy. The hospital itself is in great condition and the consultation had with a surgeon really put me at ease. His secretary has since been amazing with all my questions. Booked in for surgery on September because no other hospital can live up to this one now. Great work Spire Bushey!

I recently attended Bushey Spire for spine surgery. I found the nursing staff, Physio staff as well as all other staff to be helpful, encouraging and supportive. My consultant was a delight, caring and professional. I am always very sick after a GA the anaesthetist was excellent and for only the 2nd time ever I was not sick for the 24 hours post surgery. (He attended me both times) I was very well looked after. Every question I had was answered and I felt I was in very good hands most importantly they listened. My after care appointments were all arranged for me. Nothing was too much trouble. Although no one wants to go to hospital, at least my stay was made so much better by the care I received. I have, this year, had 6 surgical procedures, 3 of which were at the Bushey Spire, which is my top choice. Keep up the great work. Well done.

I can't rate this hospital enough. The rooms are so comfortable and all the staff are amazing. I had a total knee replacement by Mr Gikas, his team of anaesthetists, nursing and physio staff are incredible , the post op care is phenomenal and the food delicious. The upkeep and cleanliness is outstanding . The staff are all so caring as are the lovely porters. Would highly recommend spire Bushey. Thank you to everyone involved in my care from pre op care coordination through to discharge, the experience has been top class.

Had 2 appointments here now and both times the consultant has been over 45 minutes late. Arrived once and it was so busy there were no seats to sit on. No one called me to tell me the consultant would be so delayed as would have considered moving my appointment but not after I've driven miles to get there! I think they need to learn to manage diaries better or improve their communications - you would get better service on the NHS.

My dad came in for total knee replacement on both knees in July. As he had some fairly unusual circumstances I really needed someone who could work with me to see what was possible, bearing in mind his needs as a person, rather than be told what wasn't possible. I can honestly say that without the coordination and support offered by the self-pay team (Nikki, Barbara and Karen) that I would not have chosen Spire and this surgery would not have gone ahead as smoothly as it did. They kept me informed at all times, and answered any question I had no matter how trivial. My dad, thanks to Richard Carrington, the hospital and physio staff, was out of hospital in 5 days post surgery. He had full range of movement in both knees after six weeks, and is now well on the road to recovery, slowly building his strength and regaining his much valued independence. Whilst there were inevitably some things that could have gone better from an organisational point of view, these were rectified quickly and I knew I could phone the self pay team who would do their best to help. We couldn't have hoped for this whole process to go as well as it did. Thank you again.

The bad news is that I have been to Spire Bushey more often than I would have wished, but that's only because I have no desire to be ill. However, the good news is that, given it was necessary to visit, I can commend this facility most highly; the facilities, consultants and staff are all excellent, and the operational aspects are efficient. What really matters is that all the humans involved could not be more helpful, or sympathetic to whatever ails one. Top class.

I have been coming here long before it was Spire Bushey Hospital I came here when it was Bupa however I have spent many years coming here for outpatients appointments, physiotherapy and an an inpatient and only EVER had one complaint. The nurses are absoloutely charming, the food is delicious, the cleaning staff are always very friendly, the ladies on the front desk at reception are charming and when I was an inpatient the care before surgery, after etc was fantastic. My only bad experience was when a nurse tried giving me a medication I am allergic to so it was a very good job I double checked prior to taking it and the hospital did take effect on that as I made a formal complaint as I could of been very ill. Nevertheless Spire Bushey have helped me for years the physio dept are so lovely they work you VERY hard depending on your injury though, the hydro pool is lovely and a good easy way to start physio prior to treatment i.e going into the gym but I CANNOT fault this hospital for a single second. When your an inpatient everyone is so kind, friendly and understanding they will understand food allergies taking them very seriously unlike some other hospitals, the beds are comfy, you can have visitors when you want up to a certain time at night and the care is so wonderful. If you want a 5 star hospital experience with the best care in North West London go to Spire Bushey I have read the other reviews and quite frankly do not understand how anyone can criticize the care yes the phones can be hard to get through at times but you have to be patient.

Went in for knee surgery. Free parking. Taken to a private room. En suite, television, fridge etc. Staff were prompt and procedures explained. Post operation food was excellent. Only reason why it was not five stars was that the surgeon did not discharge me and I could have gone home earlier. That said, staff were very friendly . Overall an excellent venue and I would recommend it highly

The Professor and his team at The Fetal Medicine Centre offered my wife a great service with the extensive scans they provide. We had three scans at the clinic. The doctor provided a report for our NHS consultant. The Professors knowledge in the field is absolutely amazing. I've had my daughter and son born here, and each time, baby and I were well looked after. I am grateful for all the help I received. I would have given 5 stars, but deduct one only because I was told that the hospital doesn't do neonatal circumcision for those that request it. (Turns out that if you have a baby boy, you CAN have him circumcised in the private outpatients wing. I would like to have known at the time, as I ended up going elsewhere to have this done for my son.)

Been in twice for bumps and breaks and seen within 2 hours both times. All brand new and clean. Staff as always in the NHS excellent. Better than George's or St Thomas' for wait times and have everything they do. I'd travel the extra 10 mins or so for a walk in to A&E. My niece was born here and that was also (apparently!) Excellent.. Pharmacy opposite and plenty of food options in the area if your in for a wait. Underground parking also on site, albeit expensive as you'd expect for a central London parking location.

Terrible emergency service! Waited for 4 hours simply to get a medicine. They put me to a room after waiting for 3 hours, but no one never came to attend the room and check on me or give me anything until I have to find the doctor again! I had to keep pressing the doctor and the nurse to give me the medicine as they kept saying they were doing straight away which they didn't. In the end they told me the medication was no available and asked me to go somewhere else next day. I told them I had not slept for 33 hours and haven't eaten for 10 hours, and I was really on the edge to pass out because I am suffering from a bad cold, but both of the nurses just didn't care and walked away. I simply asked if I could just leave and pick it up next morning as they need to order it, the doctor told me I would need to go to another clinic and requeue all over again if I don't wait for it there but they wouldn't tell me how long it may take to wait for it. I understand they might be busy in the A&E sometimes, but clearly it wasn't the case at the time I was there. I only went to A&E because I really needed to and I was following the guidance due to the circumstances I was in. I usually do respect the doctors and nurses at the hospital, but it really disappointed me with how those two doctor and nurse handled the patient, particularly the doctor which he was clearly playing his game there which is very unprofessional!

Terrible experience! I have just had major abdominal surgery and was on the Chelsea Ward which is private. I have had several operations in my time but never have I experienced such appalling aftercare. They might as well have had a vending machine of drugs as the lack of any care was just shocking. I am very surprised this could happen on a private ward in such a well known London hospital. Apparently the rest of the ward is full of older chronically ill patients paying privately and so their focus is on them as that's where they make their money - also old patients usually don't or can't complain. Explains a lot!

Twenty minute so far trying to find out if my friend is still in the C & W. They need to answer the telephone occasionally. Nine months later......worst than ever. The computer that answers the phone has not been set up in such a way that it can put you though to a human being when it can't understand what you want. So it tries a range of random departments. I ended up being put through to Mental Health (not entirely inappropriate after 40 minutes) and a helpful man there said he would put me through to the switchboard but, after another half hour, it became clear nobody was going to answer. UTTERLY HOPELESS.

Been here for the birth of our second child. The birthing center has been absolutely fantastic. Very competent and friendly staff, they made us feel at home and helped us with great sweetness and professionalism. The only slight issue was a noisy fan in the room, but this was absolutely nothing compared to the great service we received. Highly recommended. We did not experience the labour ward, but all examinations and prenatal courses we had at the hospital were great. Again, professional, punctual and friendly staff. Great!

Unfortunately, had to go to the emergency many times - but they definitely made my bad experiences more enjoyable. They are all extremely nice, professional and helpful. By far, one of the best hospitals in London, with Cromwell.

Great hospital. Lovely doctors. Only let down by a few Agency nursing staff. (My personal experience) Food is OK, portions are so small. Hard working staff in a very busy hospital.

It does not feel like a hospital. There are sculptures and art everywhere, which makes it such a pleasant space. On the top floor there's even a cinema with the latest releases for patients. The canteen serves up fresh food everyday too.

Consultant made a false allegation that I failed to attend an appointment and used that as an excuse to deny me the care to which i am legally entitled as a taxpayer who funds the NHS. Wrote me an angry letter with a disturbingly hostile and hateful tone and kept repeating the allegation after I told him I never received an appointment letter. As this is a common NHS scam to reduce patient numbers and i had already busted another hospital doing the same - that hospital has repeatedly failed to provide evidence of an appointment letter despite a thorough grilling by the information commissioner - I challenged this hospital to provide evidence of an appointment letter, proof of posting and evidence of receipt by me. Surprise surprise, they rolled over and admitted there was NO APPOINTMENT LETTER EVER SENT OUT. Yet the consultant lied and even claimed a specific date of posting the non existent letter. What concerns me most is the way the consultant decided to wade in on the complaint and send me angry letters perpetuating the unsubstantiated allegation before the complaints dept had even completed their investigation. My personal feeling is that the consultant was behind the whole thing, probably under pressure to reduce patient numbers and thus resorting to high unethical tactics. I am disgusted because the allegation of non attendance is now captured on my GP record too; false allegations on patient records severely prejudice and undermine patient care.

Urgent care facilities are clean, modern, and well maintained. There is also a children’s waiting room so the adults one is also reasonably quiet. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. Doctors and nurses are knowledgeable and can explain your diagnoses in plain English. I was seen within 45 minutes although I imagine that it can take considerably longer at peak times. Good bus links with several pharmacies nearby.

Impressed by the staff - everyone smiling, professional, happy to help and assist me in various occasions. Fast, no queues, very well organised. Great experience! Wr had our baby girl there in the midwife led birth centre and the midwifes helped us to have a great memory of our firstborn. We are both very thankful to the whole team that was there for us at that time, but especially to midwife Jo, who had amazing patience. It was a whole year ago, but I hope she'll see this and remember the greatest screamer of all times from 29/11/2017. 11:58 am well done ✅✅✅✅

After waiting 4 hours in pain at another A&E I was told that they would not be able to help me and then I was referred to the this one, and although the aforementioned A&E failed to call ahead and pass along my details I was seen to very quickly and within an hour I was booked in for an operation the following morning. Everyone I came into contact with during my time there were well mannered, empathic and professional. This made me feel much more at ease as it was my first time being admitted to hospital and I was extremely nervous. Every step of what was happening was explained to me, I was always asked if I understood and had any questions. Very clean facilities and excellent bedside manners from the staff. The service I received here was nothing short of excellent.

Just amazing how lucky we are here to have free medical care given by amazing people. Thank you to the staff for my care over the years and shame on the people that complain about the most ridiculous things. You try working in a place like that getting grief from people that have a choice. If you're not happy then pay and go private!

Pain clinic has got to be the worst hospital department I’ve ever had the miss pleasure of dealing with. Not only poor administration but the Dr I’m under is disgraceful, condescending, ignorant and looks down his nose at you. He has even stated that as I have a complaint on going he does not want to test me any further until the complaint has been dealt with. That to me is refusing me treatment and also BLACKMAIL, drop the complaint and we will carry on with your treatment. Guess what, not a chance is it being dropped. I’m also under the dermatology Department who are the complete opposite and can’t do enough for you. Every single member of staff I’ve dealt with are excellent. So, not the hospital, just the department that is a joke!!

I rent a room from Jacqui Wilkinson who is head of finance for Chelsea and Westminster hospital as well as councilor for Warwick ward, Westminster . I've lived there just over 2 months. She has taken 6 months rent from me and a bond. I cannot sleep at night because I can hear the trains 24 hours a day. The noise pollution team have said has a statutory duty to put an acoustic sound proof window in which only costs £600. She has had almost £7,000 from me. She has been rude, aggressive, obstructive and lacking any empathy. If I had known I was renting from a Conservative councilor I would never have moved in. There are no Conservative MPS in Wales. Greed is not good and society does exist. Do not vote for this woman.

Yesterday I cut myself badly enough to warrant a trip to A & E. There was a bit of a wait, as it was VERY busy for the day and time (but I was just happy to have an A & E that was open and well run!). However, all staff were friendly, helpful and professional and the waiting room itself was clean, modern, airy and comfortable. The young Dr that helped me was wonderful! He was cheery, confident and very kind. He patched me up and filled me with confidence that things would be fine. Well done him and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital!

The nurse-led triage service at Accident and Emergency is incredibly efficient. I can't stress how wonderful the nurses are, and that's not just because I would marry any of them in an instant. My GP sent me in with a mysterious yet dangerous pulse of 120 and BP of 165/105 and they got me into a chair immediately.

On the first day of a 2 week trip to England I ended up in Urgent Care of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with my 82 year old mother. She had taken a bad fall and needed to be examined and treated before we could continue our travels. The nurses, doctors and x-ray techs were friendly, knowledgeable and caring. They provided expedient and top notch care. When the other travelers in our group asked about our experience with NHS I let them all know that the services we received at this hospital was as good as, if not better and more timely, than what I have experienced in similar circumstances at home in the USA.

The service and care was outstanding. We initially started our care at (without wanting to mention the name!) the well known london private hospital. And it simply wasn't comparable to the wonderful care you were clearly going to get from Dr Otigbah and her team. My maternity care was thorough and professional but still personal. And as for my day of delivery Miss Otigbah did not disapoint and neither did her team at Queens hospital. I honestly cannot rate my experience high enough and I don't recommend things lightly. Worth every penny and I'll always think of Miss Otigbah fondly.

Dr Otigbah and her team provided superb, professional and personal care throughout our pregnancy and at delivery. As this was our first baby we had a lot of questions and the doctor took the time to answer them, which meant that we felt well informed thought the process. Furthermore, the flexible working hours of the clinic allowed my husband to attend all antenatal appointments. Choosing the antenatal care and delivery package meant that we saw Dr Otigbah from the first weeks of pregnancy to delivery. This helped us in hospital as Dr Otigbah knew our preferences and how to best communicate with us which significantly reduced stress at that very exciting but also scary time of giving birth. I cannot recommend this clinic enough!

I had both my boys circumcised here as newborns (for health and hygiene reasons). Each time I have been very happy with how it was handled from start to finish. For my boys it appeared to be virtually pain free, and in each case, they healed within a week. It's been much easier to keep them clean now that there is no foreskin there, and the result looks comfortable for both of them. I would readily recommend this place if you are expecting a baby boy and plan on having him circumcised.

Rude staff! Bad customer service! Unhelpful! Especially when you're not there for fun! Had to make a complaint twice, and both times the duty manager didn't even bother to come back to me apologise or anything! I was left a voicemail from the accounts department with screaming and swearing in the background clearly another unhappy customer! I will avoid the Portland if possible! I will most certainly do my best to avoid the Portland hospital they need to train their staff starting with the duty manager!

I can't say enough good things about the Portland. Having just returned from a three night stay for my wife to give birth to our baby son - there is no better place I'm aware of that you could go to. The staff work tirelessly to create a safe haven for you to start your new family life together. The midwives are second to none - no question too big or too small for them to deal with; and the care, attention and advice my wife received was amazing. Clearly a lot of stress is placed on a woman's body in childbirth, and the professionalism with which they dealt with potentially embarrassing issues was outstanding. Simply, the amount of effort every single person we dealt with put in to ensuring my wife and baby were healthy, comfortable and had everything they need will not be something that we forget. Rather than the first day of our baby's life being stressful and "an ordeal" - he entered the world to mum and dad relaxed and ready to take on the challenge, and whilst incredibly nerve-wracking, will be something that we remember fondly. Quite possibly the only "downside", if it could be considered that, is that if we're lucky enough to have another child we plan to go to the Portland again as now nowhere else could possibly match it!

Super disorganised administration. Always have to queue at least 15 mins to get registered before my appointment. Asked the operator to connect me with the blood test dept, they connected me with the scan dept. Was told over the phone that I can come to do my blood tests at 8.30, but when I actually came in it turned out to be 9.00. Very disappointed with the level of service

I took my daughter to see a consultant because I felt the NHS were taking too long and not listening to my concerns. I paid £250 to see a consultant for 10 minutes at the most. She was rude and didn't even ask the basic questions about what my daughter was suffering with. I'm so angry I don't even want to pay but obviously have no choice. All I can say is thank God for the NHS!!!! Don't make the mistake I did. Research the doctor you're going to see before going and make sure you're choosing a good one. The junior doctor on the NHS was a million times more thorough than this rude consultant. I wish I could give zero stars it doesn't even warrant one..

Biggest hospital in the UK for children? A joke. First they book you with Harley street doctors at 250 pounds a pop that tell you basically the same as the NHS doctors and give you appointments the earliest for the day after. You would expect that with private health you get a same day appointment. Not here? Better take a plane and find a doctor somewhere else. All hospitals and doctors are connected; they all refer to each other and this is just a big big business. They reduce the supply to keep the availability to the minimum and prices at the maximum. Private health in the UK Makes sure that the NHS is a disaster and should you decide to go private the availability is super limited.

Very nice staff but their mission is to get you to commit to expensive treatment on the spot through a payement plan. I don't know if the treatment itself is as good as they say but regardless one shouldn't feel they have to make a decision on the spot for an exclusive offer that will only be valid there and then with a down payement. The person who took care of me was lovely and professional but I didn't feel comfortable when her manger came in to try and twist my arm further.

Our son was treated here successfully by physio. Paid in full by our insurer. One of the 5 appointments they lost track of the payment for, and for over 2 years they pursued and threatened us personally for payment. Money that they had all along. Every time I phoned them, proved they had the money (even giving the bank transfer ID number), they said “ok” and 6 months later they chase us again. We found out that they never once checked with our insurer in all that, despite having all the details and making 4 other claims with no issue. It came to a head when they referred us to debt collectors. We were afraid to open our front door! Eventually they bothered to check their records, found that they had the money all along, and unapologetically they wrote us that “the money was found.” Frankly I think it’s a scam, we were so stressed, and intimidated that we nearly just paid at one point. The admin staff don’t give a monkeys

I find it a dangerous place where they first try to put the blame on you, for a mistake they made. Happily launched into legal action threats and bullying, even when we had a proof the mistake was on their part. Finally we got a note saying it was their mistake but not even a single word "sorry".

It is a far cry from what a private hospital should be like. They forgot they are private and we paid for our newborn son to be treated there. We have filed a complaint with the management team but NO ONE bothered to respond. We got an email saying it was their mistake but it didn’t include a single apology. They think they are above the law. I find it a dangerous place where they first try to put the blame on you, for a mistake they made. Happily launched into legal action threats and bullying, even when we had a proof the mistake was on their part. When it was finished and they finally acknowledged that we were right all along, none of the people who harassed us said “sorry”. They treated us with so much incompetence and disrespect. I would never trust them with my son’s life. If you think you will be better off here than anywhere else - think twice. This is horribly run place.

Dr Mufthah Eltumi is the worst doctor I've ever seen in my life. He was not attentive during the consultation (fiddling with his computer and phone) and rude when we asked questions. As a result he gave my baby a wrong diagnosis. Another doctor at the portland and one from the NHS confirmed that his diagnosis was wrong. He caused us a lot of stress and unnecessary time spend. Very poor healthcare facility. We went here as my girlfriend and baby daughter just relocated to the UK and we did not have time to understand how to get our baby visited by the NHS quickly, so given her issue was urgent we went here. The doctor was very unhelpful and always on a rush (we had 4 appointments), in some cases even more in a rush than the average NHS GP. Yes, the place is clean and well kept but the level of medical practice is absolutely below average (in my UK experience) and I would never recommend it. Just go through the NHS.

Some consultants are great here however the hospital is not great, lack of communication between staff and departments results in a child not receiving adequate care. Find a better hospital. I am currently struggling with my son’s MRI as even the PA to the CEO does not respond! Any hospital must go that extra mile when dealing with a child, this is definitely not the case at this hospital

Very disappointed with the lack of clarity and communication and in fact lack of empathy as well. There are hidden fees at every corner. I had my baby there as my NHS hospital had run out of free space and was left scrambling to find a private hospital. We kept getting bill after bill and paid double than what we had been initially quoted. Went for a natural delivery with no epidural but was forced to pay for the anesthesiologist to be on call even though I specifically mentioned I didn’t want any drugs. Everything went well didn’t need the epidural but ended up having to pay over £600 for the anesthesiologist anyway. Some of the staff are very competent but others are down right aggressive and border line disrespectful. I’ve had to take my son for a scan there and was so shocked by the lack of empathy and care from the MRI technicians I will not be going back. The level of care there is much worst than with the NHS and you end up paying an arm and a leg for it with the finance department hounding you down even if payments are coming from insurance and have been covered.

My bad.!!

Took care of patients who had just had CABG and/or valve replacements. Also worked in neuro ICU and medical ICU. Management very approachable and willing to work with staff. Hardest part was stress of acuity of patients. Most enjoyable part was ability to take care of these type of patients. Pros excellent pt care Cons stressful often no breaks

My bad.!! It's now 6 month and I've been back for tests. Cannot fault the excellent staff and administration at all

A very good experience. I went for a Well Womens check-up and received much better service than NHS. The consultants were very knowledgeable, which was a change from a check-up on the NHS. If I could make a suggestion, delivery of results could be better communicated; I did not realize the e-mails were sent in 3 waves and I was sent my lab results initially without interpretation. The interpretation of results came a few weeks later. I will return to this practice in the future.

Excellent experience with Mr Raza both in Chelsea & Westminster and at the Women's Wellness Centre. Booking an appointment was very easy and I did not have to wait very long at all. Mr Raza was very flexible, explained to me all my options and ensured I had full autonomy in my decisions. He is clearly an outstanding doctor, but also considerate and kind, ensuring I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Moreover, the nurse, Junell, was clearly very qualified but also was very kind and welcoming!

This has been a really fantastic personalised service we have been receiving. We are expecting our first child and have never felt more confident and at ease with the whole process Well done WWC my wife and i are usually very hard people to please but i can definitely say that you guys have gone the extra mile for us!!!

Stunningly inept and careless service. Worse than any NHS service I've ever encountered. Do not go to Dr. Raza; once they have your money it's impossible to get any attention. I was made to wait weeks for a simple explanation of blood results, and many more weeks for a referral that was never made. Dr. Raza considers himself far too important to communicate with patients directly or reply to emails. Nothing got done without several prompts, so even simple matters took absolutely forever. During this time my condition got much worse without treatment. I paid £800 and have no choice but to start over, worse off than when I began. Don't subject yourself to these people. ZERO STARS.

Recently had a wonderful experience with the team at WWC. Polite and friendly staff in a welcoming environment. Had 2 scans done by Mahanz who made me feel very much at ease and took me through the scan with detail. Then had a couple of appointments with Miss Gubby Ayida, who was absolutely excellent!!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone expecting a baby.

My wife and I are really fond of the Women's Wellness Centre and would highly recommend it to any prospective parents. Our consultant, Ms Ayida was truly amazing and her PA Julie was sweet and very well organised, as were the receptionists. All the sonographers were also extremely professional, and warm and likeable. So all in all five stars.

Really good service. Everyone is really polite and professional. It's infinitely better than the service you get from the NHS. If you can afford it, don't think twice. Dr Gubby Ayida is wonderful and so is their sonographer Rhiannon.

We have just finished Joan Mill's Hypnobirthing course at the Verulam clinic and now feel so calm and prepared for the birth of our baby. The sessions are very informative and detailed, yet relaxed and not rushed. We felt able to ask questions and talk through any concerns in a safe and friendly environment. I love that the focus is on empowering the women and trusting in your body, plus how your partner can support and help you, so that you work together in a trusting partnership. We can’t thank you enough Joan!

I can't be thankful enough to have had both my children at the portland hospital! The midwives were always by my side and no matter what I needed they did their best to help the pain after my c section! I also am very happy to have met an excellent obstrician Mr Etienne Horner who stood by me every minute and came to visit me every day to see how I was!

AVOID AT ALL COST
